Performed an extended analysis of the clients
process to identify cost savings opportunities. Cut the process time in half,
resulting in an $85,000 annual savings in labor, water, energy, and waste
disposal costs.
Implemented new Lean
assembly process that reduced annual labor costs by $78,000.
Redesigned an existing
process and eliminated Waste, increasing production from 35 units per day to 100
units without increasing manpower.
Utilized 5S/Workplace
Organization principles to reduce walking and ergonomic issues by 75%.
Implemented automated
Gerber cutting of patterns. Prior to this all patterns were cut manually with
ultrasonic knives. This increased our first run capability from 20% to 60% and
reduced our in process inspection labor from 3 people to 2 people. Converted
over 300 cutting template patterns to electronic format (AutoCAD .DXF).
Implemented Lean
Manufacturing techniques and layouts on the front and rear seat assembly lines
reducing required production hours and saving $600k annually.
Increased mattress production
units per day
27% while reducing
manpower by 45%.
Converted mattress assembly
from ultras-sonic welding to RF welding. This increased our first run capability
from 60% to 95% and reduced our in process inspection labor by 50%.
Implemented new lean
production line system and eliminated batch system which reduced work in process
from over $30,000 to less than $12,000. This system also enabled us to reduce
our model change over time from 1 day to 18 minutes.
Conducted numerous Failure
Mode Effects Analyses (PFMEA) of assembly and manufacturing processes in
numerous industries.
